Bible Study
Thursdays Starting at 7 pm
At PHV we take the Bible seriously. In the Methodist tradition we understand our faith through scripture, tradition, reason and community experience. In the tradition of great African Methodists like Bishop Henry McNiel Turner, James Cone and Jacquline Grant we also read the Bible through the context and culture of our African ancestors in trying to understand what God continues to say for our community today. We believe that God stands on the side of the poor and the oppressed and that Jesus remains a Savior and liberator for all those who struggle and carry heavy loads. Our study of the Bible shines a light on the Liberating Gospel taught by Jesus.
